• Saint Raphael welcomes donor to recommend grants from their donor advised funds
• Allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive immediate tax deduction and recommend grants from the fund over time.

Stock Transfer/Mutual Funds*

• Publicly-traded stocks
• Privately-held stocks (which will require independent appraisals beforehand)
• Shares of mutual funds and ETFs
• Bonds
• Transfer any of these and pay NO taxes on gains plus get a deduction! (Verify with Tax Professional on your personal situation)

  • Purchased $5,000 stock of ABC Company
  • Stock now worth $10,000
  • Can gift all $10,000 to SCRS and pay no taxes on gains and realize deduction on gift* 

Qualified Charitable Donation!*

• Individuals over age 70 ½ can donate directly from their IRAs, 
  • As a recognized 501c3 you can donate directly to SRCS and not realize ANY taxable income on the distribution
  • A portion of your RMD (required minimum distribution) amount can be offset by this with no tax realized, better than a deduction!
  • Example
    • Donor has IRA withdrawal of $10,000 and specifies it as QCD to SRCS and realizes no taxable income on any of the $10,000
    • Donor who has a RMD of $10,000 can have $5,000 sent as QCD and realizes no income tax on $5,000 and only $5,000 Remaining of RMD

Retirement Plans/IRA

• Consider naming SRCS as a beneficiary of an IRA, tax-sheltered annuity or profit sharing plan.
• Naming SCRS as a direct beneficiary enables the school to avoid any taxes or reduction in your gift
